:the Clean Water project:

The Problem: 1.1 Billion people lack access to clean drinking water. If they do manage to get it, they can expect to pay 10 times more than the wealthy, according to the World Commission on Water for the 21st Century. Some 3.4 million people die each year from water-related diseases like malaria, diarrhea, sleeping sickness, intestinal infections, hookworm, and roundworm. These diseases are caused directly from consumption (90% of which are children under the age of 5).

The Solution: Bio-Sand Water Filtration. Bio-Sand Water Filters are a technological adaptation of the centuries old slow sand filtration process. Bio-Sand Filters remove 95 – 99% of organic contaminants including bacteria, viruses, protozoa, worms, and particles. Safe water produced by the filters is free of discoloration, odor, and unpleasant taste, and can be used for drinking, food preparation, personal hygiene, and sanitation. Most common home-based models can produce between 20 and 60 litres of water per hour.

Providing Clean Water through Bio-Sand Filtration: In this picture you see a before and after picture of water that I poured through our Bio-Sand Water filter. The glass on the left has dirty,

watercontaminated water and the glass on the right is clear, clean, bacteria free drinkable water. I have traveled to some of the poorest places in Mexico, mountain villages near the city of Aldama where many if not all the families have no access to clean drinking water. the closest place for that is in the city which can take easily two hours to get there. families will opt to get water from a river or stream or a well. not good for drinking. right now we are working in a little mountain village named El Plomo where we have delivered many Bio-Sand Filters. we will continue to travel to this village and others in the area to provide more families with these filters. if you would like to help with this project please contact me through our contact us page as let’s talk about how you can help.

    Seriously…this brings back memories.
I recently saw a photo of Les Saintes, a small dependant Island of Guadeloupe where I was and I began to just weep! So many years ago and God still pierces my heart! Please know we are here praying and lifting you up!
